Marinka Shelter is located at the saddle of the same name northeast of Botev Peak and serves as an important emergency refuge on the high-mountain routes in the area.
The shelter underwent major renovation in 2022, including repairs to the structure and windows and replacement of its basic equipment.
It is primarily intended as an emergency refuge when weather conditions deteriorate unexpectedly.
Access
From Botev Peak – approximately 40–50 min.
From Tazha Hut – approximately 2:30 h.
The shelter is located along marked high-mountain routes in the Marinka Saddle area.
Important
The spring is not inside the shelter and is located approximately 100–200 m away.
Terrain around the water source is rocky and may be slippery.
Firewood and other supplies should not be assumed to be available.
In fog, storms or winter conditions, the surrounding terrain becomes serious high-mountain terrain.
