Gerdek Tepe Shelter is located in the western part of the Central Balkan, in the area between Dermenka, Dobrila and Sopot.
Central Balkan National Park identifies it as an important tourist facility in and around Steneto Reserve.
Unlike managed shelters, it should not be relied upon as a guaranteed place for a planned overnight stay.
