Kamenitsa Peak (2,822 m) is one of Pirin's highest granite summits and in winter takes on a very different, much more serious character. Its rocky slopes, gullies and exposed ridge can be covered by hard snow and ice.
This route entry is intended for a winter ascent through the Begovitsa Hut and Kamenishka Kukla area. The actual line of travel depends on snow cover, avalanche conditions and the state of the terrain.
In clear winter weather, the upper mountain offers impressive views toward Yalovarnika, Kuklite, Tevno Ezero and a large part of Pirin.
The route should not be treated as a simple matter of following a summer GPX track. Winter mountaineering experience and sound judgement of current conditions are required.

BGMountainGuide
The name Kamenitsa is directly connected with the rocky character of the summit. Interestingly, the massif was once viewed as three-headed — today's Kamenitsa, Kamenishka Kukla and Malka Kamenitsa.
